For World Health Day on 7 April, the ISSA will highlight the role of social security institutions in advancing on the global objective of health for all.

The community of social security professionals and experts that make up the membership of the ISSA have identified health, long-term care, and closing the coverage gap as top priorities of the 10 Global Challenges facing social security.

Innovative approaches and good practices in response to these challenges are integral elements of ISSA’s and its member institution’s work. “We seek excellence and innovation in social security to reach health coverage for everyone,” said Marcelo Abi-Ramia Caetano, Secretary General of the ISSA. Recently, the ISSA committed to the Global Partnership for Universal Social Protection by 2030.

With its dynamic Technical Commission on Medical Care and Sickness Insurance, the ISSA will release a report on ageing-in-place and long term care in the upcoming 13th ISSA Forum for Technical Commissions to be held from 26 to 27 June in Geneva.

The report will be disseminated during the World Social Security Forum that will take place in Brussels from 14 to 18 October 2019, together with the launching of a new chapter on ”E-Health” within the revised set of ISSA Guidelines on Information and Communication Technology.
