Promoting gender equality and women empowerment in Lebanese industry

(ILO News) - Beirut, Lebanon – The Association of Lebanese Industrialists (ALI), with the support of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Office for the Arab States, has launched a comprehensive awareness and communication campaign aimed at promoting gender equality and empowering women in the industrial sector.
This initiative is part of the ACT/EMP support to ALI and seeks to increase the number of women industrialists joining the association, while also challenging and breaking down gender stereotypes. The campaign will feature a series of short videos showcasing women-led businesses and sharing testimonies from successful Lebanese women entrepreneurs.

In a significant step towards fostering a more inclusive industrial sector, ALI has established a Women Taskforce. This Taskforce has developed a detailed roadmap outlining specific activities designed to support and increase the participation of women in the industry. “We are committed to creating an environment where women can thrive and contribute to the industrial sector,” said Mr. Salim Zanni, President at ALI. “This campaign is a testament to our dedication to gender equality and the empowerment of women.”
The campaign will be rolled out in the coming weeks through social media and it will be supported with a roundtable discussion with HR managers and business owners about experiences to promote gender equality at the workplace. The campaign shows the commitment of the Association in accelerate action towards a more gender equal economy in Lebanon. ALI invites all stakeholders to join hands in supporting this important initiative and working towards a more equitable and prosperous future for all.
