Vietnam Social Security (VSS) holds online conference to evaluate Q1 2023 health insurance examination results and deploy tasks for the last 9 months of 2023. Deputy Director General of VSS, Nguyen Duc Hoa, chaired the conference. Participants included representatives from the Department of Health Insurance Implementation, the Center for Medical Claim Review, as well as several units under the VSS and Social Security agencies from 63 provinces and cities.

The international workshop, jointly organized by Vietnam Social Security (VSS) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on April 19, 2022, aimed to share experiences and consult with international experts on the application of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) in allocating and paying for health insurance expenses, as well as evaluating the impact of the referral policy under the Law Health Insurance on the implementation of the prospective payment method according to DRGs. The workshop was chaired by Dr. Nguyen Duc Hoa, VSS’ Deputy General Director.

Many middle-aged people now feel regretful for having withdrawn lump sum social insurance as without pension allowance, now they have to make ends meet and depend on their children. While many of them want to continue contributing to the social insurance fund to enjoy pension allowance and health insurance benefits, a number of young labourers still choose the lump sum payout, depriving themselves of the previous “savings” to have a joyful life in the future.
