The installation of the VssID app of the Vietnam Social Insurance helped 20 workers at Hung Hau Agriculture Joint Stock Company in Sa De Industrial Zone in Sa Dec city of the Mekong Delta’s Dong Thap Province discovered that their employer had delayed social insurance and health insurance payments while searching for their social insurance and health insurance payment process.
Based on evidence and related data on the VssID app, these workers asked the company’s Board of Directors to deal with the delayed payment. Particularly, with the involvement of the social insurance agency of Sa Dec City, the company paid the delayed social insurance and health insurance fees for its workers, worth over VND2 billion, helping to ensure the interests of more than 170 workers in line with regulations.
Director of Sa Dec City’s Social Insurance Agency, Tang Phuoc Long, said the agency examined and reminded the company about the payment for social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance for workers many times.

As of April 27, the company had delayed payment of social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance fees for more than 170 workers with a total amount of over VND2 billion. This included 73 workers who had ceased work but could not get social insurance and unemployment insurance benefits as the company failed to prove social insurance and health insurance payment periods for them, leading to a lack of evidence for the social insurance agency to deal with insurance benefits for the workers.
The Social Insurance Agency of Sa Dec City proactively coordinated with members of the industrial zone’s Management Board to hold a working session with the business to deal with the issue. At the session, the company’s leaders committed to pay all social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance to help deal with insurance policies for the workers.
At the session, the city’s Social Insurance Agency spoke about advantages of the VssID app and suggested the business and its workers install the app to follow and supervise their social, health and unemployment insurance participation process and benefits from insurance policies transparently and publically.
As a result, the company paid the social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance premiums worth over VND2 billion as of May 20.
Lan, one among the 73 workers, said she and her colleagues at the new company would install the VssID app to help them follow the participation process of social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance as well as insurance benefits.
The situation proved the necessity and efficiency of installing the VssID app to help workers check the process of social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance and insurance benefits as well as search for related information to ensure their own interests.
With that meaning, the Vietnam Social Insurance sector has strived to have all people and workers install the app. As of May 16, six months since it was launched, the app has been downloaded and installed by 6.44 million people with over 5.6 million dossiers approved. The app has been highly appreciated by users./.
