All feedback from people and businesses will be received by the Vietnam Social Security

In recent days, the hotline of the Vietnam Social Security Administration at 1900 9068 has received feedbacks from some people about them receiving phone calls from strangers with the prefixes of: 0555, 8009, etc. claiming to be a person working for the social insurance agency. These subjects inform people that they have been under medical examination and treatment with the health insurance card but have not yet paid for medical costs, or notify that they have profited from the health insurance fund, etc. Then they ask people to provide their personal identity and pay a sum of money (through an account) to pay the costs of medical examination and treatment covered by the health insurance or refund the money that they have profited, otherwise the social insurance agency will report to the police for the investigation or deduct money in their bank accounts or cut off their rights to use health insurance cards, etc.

For the above incident, the Vietnam Social Security warned: The subject claiming to be working for the social insurance agency and calling people to report the above contents was fraudulent. Currently, the social insurance agency does not deploy any form of direct phone calls to people to report that they have gone to medical examination and treatment with the health insurance card or that they have profited money from the health insurance fund as some people said as above.

Vietnam Social Security is collecting phone numbers claiming to be the people of the social insurance agency that committed the above frauds according to people's feedbacks to transfer to the Ministry of Public Security and request the Ministry of Public Security to coordinate in the investigation and strictly deal with these cases in accordance with the law.

The Vietnam Social Security recommends: People need to raise their guard when receiving strange phone calls claiming to be a person of the social insurance agency; do not take any requests from those subjects, especially do not transfer money or provide personal information to strangers over the phone. In case of receiving such calls, it is necessary to immediately report to the police for handling, or call the hotline of Vietnam Social Security at 1900.9068 for prompt advice, support and answers./.
