Deputy General Director Pham Luong Son: Viet Nam Social Security takes all efforts to implement the universal health declaration

Universal health declaration is implemented following a proposal of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Control and Prevention, showing Vietnamese people’s solidarity and determination in response to the disease. Declared information is strictly managed to serve the mission of pushing back COVID-19 only.

At the meeting, Deputy General Director Pham Luong Son and representatives of Ministry of Health, Viet Nam Social Security’s IT Centre, Northen Center for Medical review & tertiary care payments, Health Insurance Implementation Department and Tecapro Company discussed, developed and proposed solutions to connect and share databases between Viet Nam Social Security and Ministry of Health to ensure convenience, accuracy and efficiency of universal health declaration.

Ministry of Health has developed a smartphone-based app which helps people to declare personal health status as well as other information of name, age, address, social insurance code, physical conditions (symptoms, medical history, etc.) and whether they have contact with infected people or return from infected areas. Based on the information, local healthcare sectors can monitor everybody’s health status to promptly intervene when needed, especially those who have risk factors of being in close contact with infected patients or coming from infected areas.

Speaking at the event, Deputy General Director Pham Luong Son stated that Viet Nam Social Security would try their utmost to conduct universal health declaration.

He urged the Northen Center for Medical review & tertiary care payments, IT Centre and Tecapro Company to collaborate with MoH’s agencies to effectively carry out universal health declaration, setting a strong foundation to establish electronic health records.

Moreover, to help people to declare their social insurance codes, Viet Nam Social Security will send text messages of a personal social insurance code to each participant; people can also enter ten last digits on their social insurance cards or search for their social insurance codes on Viet Nam Social Security’s official website at baohiemxahoi.gov.vn or call customer service hotline at 19009068./.
