Health insurance cards are presented to students.

On the occasion, Viet Nam Social Insurance handed out 300 health insurance cards, worth nearly VND170 million (US$7,300), to disadvantaged students. Of which, 80 health insurance cards were presented to students at the Huong Dien – Nam Huong Secondary School. Contributions for the gifts were from social insurance sector officials, civil servants, and employees.

Viet Nam Social Security carries out the “Presenting health insurance cards – sharing care and love” programme with the desire to help children from needy households partake in the health insurance network. The gifts are small in value but help them feel secure in life. In case they fall sick or suffer from an accident, the actual value offered by the health insurance card is significant.

It is expected that the programme will improve the communication of health insurance policies and solve any difficulties and shortcomings that arise in implementing the health insurance policies for students in the locality. Also, the practice further affirms the position, role, significance and humanitarian values of the health insurance policy as well as the responsibility of authorities at all levels, sectors, schools, parents and students in the implementation of policies and laws on health insurance./.
