The two delegations shared experiences on a number of professional activities

Speaking at the meeting, General Director of Lao National Social Insurance Fund – Mr. Padeumphone Sonthany sent a warm welcome to the delegation of Vietnam Social Insurance officials. At the same time, he emphasized, with the sharing of Vietnam Social Insurance on experiences in implementing the Department of receiving and returning administrative procedure results of social insurance and health insurance under the "one-stop-service" mechanism, applying information technology in professional activities and propagandas about social insurance, health insurance, etc. will contribute to improving the productivity of the Lao Social Insurance Fund.

On behalf of the delegation of Vietnam Social Insurance officials, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoa was sincerely grateful for the solemn welcome and the sharing of the performance results of Lao National Social Insurance Fund; especially the sharing about difficulties and problems in implementing the Department of receiving and returning administrative procedure results of social insurance and health insurance under the "one-stop-service" mechanism, applying information technology in professional activities and propagandas about social insurance and health insurance.

Laos' social security fund currently has more than 300,000 participants and about 6,900 people benefiting from health insurance. The total number of officials nationwide is over 3,500 people and branches of the Fund are in 18 provinces and cities. Currently, the Lao National Social Insurance Fund has just started to implement the "one-stop-shop" section, in which applying information technology is still limited. Only a few places are able to work online, the rest are directly done at workplace. Propaganda about social insurance and health insurance has not been effective.

At the meeting, Mr. Le Van Long - Head of Organization and Personnel Department ofn Hanoi Social Insurance introduced to Lao National Social Insurance Fund the outstanding experiences in implementing the service on receiving and returning results of administrative procedures on social insurance and health insurance under the "one-door" mechanism, application of information technology to professional activities in social insurance in Hanoi; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoan - Chief of Bac Ninh Social Insurance Office shared experiences and outstanding results in implementing propaganda about social insurance and health insurance in Bac Ninh province.

Also during the mission, the delegation visited and worked with the branch social insurance fund of Luong Pha Bang province. The two sides have exchanged and shared experiences on the development of social insurance and health insurance in each province.
