Hanoi - Vietnam Social Security (VSS) and the Korea Workers’ Compensation & Welfare Service (KCOMWEL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation for the 2026–2030 period last week. This important milestone has opened a new phase of cooperation between the two agencies to enhance experience sharing, improve management efficiency, and develop a modern and sustainable social security system.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, leaders of VSS and KCOMWEL agreed that over the past nearly 20 years, the two agencies have maintained a friendly and productive cooperative relationship. Both sides have consistently supported cooperation programmes aligned with each agency’s functions and duties. During the 2020–2025 period, the two agencies effectively implemented the MoU and achieved notable results. Various cooperation activities were carried out, including short-term training courses in Korea, technical workshops, and exchanges on fund management, occupational accident insurance, occupational disease prevention, and functional rehabilitation. Efficient funds management, improving fund supervision capacity, cash-flow management, operational procedures, and financial transparency;
Enhanced customer services, through cooperation in developing satisfaction assessment processes, customer support tools, and thematic workshops to strengthen skills;
Medium- and long-term training and delegation exchanges, maintaining at least one annual visit, sharing experience, and sending staff to specialized training programmes;
Expanded technical cooperation in occupational accident prevention, rehabilitation, big-data research in social security, and policy implementation experience.
