VSS and LSSO strengthen cooperation on digital transformation, reform of administrative procedures and communication

On June 4th, 2024, under the framework of implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare of Laos and Vietnam Social Security (VSS), the VSS’ delegation led by Deputy General Director Chu Manh Sinh, as Head of the delegation, had a working visit to the the Lao Social Security Organisation (LSSO).

Attending the working session,  on the VSS side, were leaders of the Legal Department, Vietnam Social Security Office, IT Center, Department of International Cooperation and Social Security Office of Thua Thien Hue province, and Social Security Office of Ha Tinh province. On the side of the LSSO, there are Keo Chan Tha Vi Xay, Director; Bua Hom Phom Ma Chan, Deputy Director; representatives of the Lao Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare and many departments under LSSO.

At the working session, Director of LSSO, Ms. Keo Chan Tha Vi Xay shared: "Expanding upon friendship tradition among the two countries Vietnam - Laos, the working visit of VSS delegation to LSSO at this time marks an important milestone in concretizing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) among the two agencies. In particular, in order to implement the signed Action Plan for the period of the year of 2022-2025, this is the first working delegation to have a working visit to Laos. LSSO hopes that, from this first milestone, the cooperation and experience sharing among the two agencies will continue to be maintained and further developed in the coming time."

Speaking at the working session, Deputy General Director Chu Manh Sinh shared: Since its establishment, VSS has always appreciates friendly and cooperative relations with Laos partners in the field of social security. This business trip has an important meaning to share experiences among the two social security agencies in the field of administrative procedure reform, communication and IT application, digital transformation in implementing social security policies.

Deputy General Director of VSS Chu Manh Sinh said that currently, VSS is implementing social, health and unemployment insurance policies for nearly 650,000 organizations and businesses, about over 17 million participants in social insurance and over 90 million participants in health insurance.

Along with that, the database of Vietnam's social security industry is currently one of six national database systems in Vietnam. In particular, VSS is considered as one of the agencies that smoothly implements data management, regularly supporting ministries and branches to manage and share shared data.

The working session between Vietnam Social Security and LSSO took place successfully, opening up new prospects for cooperation among the two agencies in the field of social security.
