During the Month of Mobilisation for implementation of universal social insurance (May), besides stimulating the local people to participate in the voluntary social insurance and family-based health insurance, Hai Phong Social Security office also disseminated information about and instructed the installation of the VssID.

Of note, Hai Phong Social Security office directed the agency’s Youth Union to work with districts’ social security offices and the Vietnam Maritime University and Hai Phong University to disseminate information about voluntary social insurance and family-based health insurance policies and instructed the universities’ students to register and install the VssID. As a result, there were about 3,000 students registering, installing and using the application in May.

Secretary of the Hai Phong Social Security office’s Youth Union cum staff at the office’s communication division, Duong Trung Hieu said “during the two recent months, the Youth Union members made frequent visits to the universities to encourage the students to install the VssID app, resulting in some 6,000 students installing the app in April and May.”

In May, Hai Phong Social Security office launched a campaign calling for registration, installation and use of the VssID in 2023. The move aims to ensure all social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance participants; and all new voluntary social insurance participants install and use the app.

The office directed units to review and make a list of employers regarding the registration, installation and use of the VssID for employees, including those who have and haven’t registered, installed and used the digital social insurance application; to synchronously and effectively adopt solutions, proactively following its own implementation methods to reach the set targets.

It is significant to increase communication on not only the advantages of using the VssID app but also its function as a tool supervising the contribution of social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance premiums for labourers by employers; diversity communication contents; open communication channels on the practicality and advantages of the digital social insurance application and work out communication solutions and plans targeting participants.

According to the Vietnam Social Security’s Plan, Hai Phong Social Security office has to accumulate over one million users of the VssID app, which means the office has to have over 220,440 new users of the app in 2023. A report by Hai Phong Social Security office, the office has mobilised 39,713 participants to install and use the VssID so far this year; including 13,740 users in May. As a result, the total number of people registering and using the VssID has reached 885,983.

Currently, Hai Phong Social Security office continues directing relevant units to accelerate activities to communicate and instruct the local people to install and use the VssID app, with the aim to soon realise the targets set by Vietnam Social Security./.
