At the conference, the Chief of VSS Administration Office made an overall assessment report on the results of directing, operating, organizing and implementing tasks in the whole sector in the first 2 months of 2023. Accordingly, the whole sector continued to actively coordinate with relevant ministries and branches in formulating and amending draft laws and important documents related to the implementation of social and health insurance regimes and policies.

The VSS has issued many documents directing and guiding professional activities such as plans to organize dialogues, consultations, support sessions and answers on social and health insurance policies with employees and employers at industrial parks and export processing zones; plans to monitor law enforcement in the field of social, health and unemployment insurance in 2023; the decision on promulgating a program of thrift practice and anti-waste in 2023 and a number of other professional guidance documents.

On this topic, the head of the Center for Medical Claim Review also presented the plan to apply artificial intelligence in health insurance assessment activities of the VSS with great benefits and potential.

Actively implementing tasks right from the first months of the year

Speaking at the conference, the VSS Deputy General Directors - Tran Dinh Lieu and Nguyen Duc Hoa, assessed the basic tasks and targets of the sector; gave instructions for professional units, and local social security agencies according to each field in charge. Accordingly, the professional units and social security agencies of provinces and cities need to strengthen coordination reports in the collection and development of participants, medical care covered by health insurance to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles; and perfect the industry's business processes and software.

Concluding the Conference, General Director Nguyen The Manh highly appreciated the achievements of the whole industry in the first 2 months of the year. The industry's key indicators all increased over the same period, indicating a favorable start. However, the difficulties and challenges of 2023 are many, so the whole industry must not be negligent and subjective.

The General Director requested that the whole industry continue to closely follow the guidelines, orientations and directions of the Party, National Assembly and Government on social and health insurance policies; continue to closely coordinate with ministries and branches in formulating and finalizing laws related to the sector's tasks in the coming time. Social security agencies of provinces and cities shall urgently strengthen consulting work to mobilize the participation of all levels in the implementation of policies on social and health insurance; assign targets to each commune and ward level, ensuring sustainable growth.

The two current glaring problems are the lack of drugs and medical supplies at some large hospitals and the settlement of benefits for employees in bankrupt and dissolved enterprises, right from the beginning of 2023, the VSS has promptly issued specific and detailed directives and instructions. Therefore, the General Director requested the affiliated units and the local social security agencies to seriously and actively implement these dispatches to ensure the best interests of the participants.

Communication needs to continue to be promoted, focusing on forecasting and keeping abreast of socio-economic and labor market fluctuations related to the industry's activities in order to have plans and scenarios in advance, providing timely and specific guidance to participating individuals and organizations.
