Grassroots social security staff trained to better reach potential SI/HI participants

HANOI Vietnam Social Security on November 18 organised an online training course to improve skills for social insurance and health insurance premium collectors at grassroots levels so that they could better reach and attract potential clients.

Speaking at the training course, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Social Security Tran Dinh Lieu said social insurance and health insurance were two major policies that played a pivotal role in the country's social security system.

On May 12, 2022, the General Director of Vietnam Social Security Nguyen The Manh signed and promulgated Decision No 1155/QD-BHXH on regulations for the management of activities of service organizations collecting social insurance and health insurance to mobilise grassroots collection staff bringing social insurance and health insurance policies, especially voluntary social insurance and household health insurance, closer to people.

The activities of the service organisation collecting social insurance and health insurance have effectively promoted the development and expansion of participants. Therefore, the work of training and fostering to improve knowledge and communication skills for those employees is always given attention, VSS Deputy Director General Lieu said.

“VSS considers it one of the key tasks of its long-term development strategy,” he said.

VSS Deputy General Director Lieu said that he expected through the training course, participants would be equipped with basic knowledge of the legal policies of social insurance and health insurance; communication skills, consulting skills, and increased ability to attract people to participate in social insurance/health insurance.

It was also expected that social insurance/health insurance collectors would have a higher responsibility, professional ethics, and quality so that they could join and increase the number of social insurance/health insurance participants, towards the goal of universal health insurance and social insurance for all workers.

At the training course, the trainees were provided knowledge and information about legal policies on social insurance and health insurance; the professional process of collection of social insurance and health insurance, issuance of social insurance codes, issuance of social insurance books and health insurance cards; skills in exploiting, consulting and developing participants of voluntary social insurance and household health insurance.

 

Overview of the training course

The course also offered opportunities for staff to raise questions and concerns about the process of collecting, submitting, and making documents on voluntary social insurance and health insurance, thereby creating consistency in the implementation process. At the end of the training course, the trainees are required to submit summary reports./.
