The numbers are believed to exceed the goal set by Vietnam Social Security and the Vietnam Post.

Previously, the two agencies set the goal that it would attract 10,000 participants of both social insurance and household health insurance during and after the ceremony.

However, on May 8, the two agencies’ branches from central to local levels implemented many solutions and exceeded the goal.

The two agencies’ communication units actively provided information to local newspapers and radio stations to coordinate communication before, during and after the ceremony so that local people in 63 provinces and cities could follow the ceremony.

There were nearly 300 news articles about the ceremony in the media. The number of broadcasts on loudspeakers during the ceremony reached more than 26,000 people. More than 70 news articles were published on the web portal of the branches in 63 provinces and cities.

Nearly 7,000 news articles about the event were shared on social networking sites such as Facebook, Zalo and YouTube.

The ceremony was co-organised by Viet Nam Social Security and Vietnam Post.

The ceremony, with the theme "Social insurance - the fulcrum of you and your family", focused on extensive communication on the meaning, role and humanity of the policies of voluntary social insurance and household health insurance, rights and benefits when participating in insurance; emphasising the level of financial support from the State budget and local budget for participants as well as disadvantages when participants choose to receive one-time social insurance.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, General Director of Vietnam Post Chu Quang Hao said the agency has always accompanied Viet Nam Social Security in the development of participants in voluntary social insurance and household health insurance.

The agency has developed nearly one million new participants in voluntary social insurance and nearly six million people participating in household health insurance nationwide, he said.

The implementation of the policies has had many outstanding and positive results.

He then told the branches to actively advise local authorities to strengthen direction in the implementation of social and health insurance policies with specific roadmaps and solutions; including creating financial support to make "momentum" for participants, especially voluntary social insurance participants.

Under the ceremony, over 600 parade groups with 9,029 cars and motorbikes were used to parade on roads across the country. About 6,600 teams participated in the dissemination of social and health insurance policies.

The number of people receiving the information was estimated to reach a total of 168,000.

The ceremony showed the Party and State's attention to taking care of people's lives, ensuring social security and increasing the participation of Party committees and authorities at all levels in social insurance policies’ implementation.

The messages used in the ceremony attracted the attention of all classes of people, making people more deeply aware of the humanity of the social insurance policy, so that people actively participated in voluntary social insurance and household health insurance.

The ceremony has created a positive effect, spreading information in the community as a premise for the organisation of larger and more effective media events in the future.

In addition, it also helped the branches in 63 provinces and cities to strive to fulfill the target of developing participants in voluntary social insurance and household health insurance.

The ceremony ensured the safety of people and vehicles on parade routes and strictly complied with regulations on COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control.
