Viet Nam has a relatively well-developed, multi-pillar social protection system with social and health insurance, social assistance, and social care services. Social protection as a right of Vietnamese citizens is firmly embedded in the country’s legal fabric, and political will to strengthen its implementation appears to have increased in the past decade.
