A new report by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) on ‘Social security for the digital age’ addresses major trends in how social security is influenced by, and makes use of, new digital technologies. The report was produced for the World Social Security Forum, October 2019.

Vietnam links trade development with social security: minister
Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung affirmed Vietnam’s efforts to link trade development with ensuring social security while meeting a delegation of the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade in Hanoi on October 31.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha receives Delegation of the sponsors of ILO
On October 1st, 2019, at the Ministry’s Head office, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha had a meeting with the Delegation of Sponsors of ILO led by Mr. Henrik Vistisen, Senior Policy Consultant of Denmark’s International Development Agency. The meeting focuses on the mutual interested issues. Attending the meeting were Leadership representatives from Department of International Cooperation, Department of Social Insurance, Department of Legal Affairs, Department of Industrial Relation and Wages, the Ministry’s Inspectorate, Institution of Labour Science and Social Affairs.

The workplace equality challenge
ILO Director-General Guy Ryder has welcomed the decision to place the fight against inequality at the heart of this year’s G7 summit. Ryder, who will be attending the 24 to 26 August summit in Biarritz, France, called inequality one of the key challenges of our time.
