To expand the coverage of pensions, healthcare, and welfare for workers
Southeast Asia is experiencing an unprecedented rate of population aging. Alongside this demographic shift, the working-age population is gradually decreasing and aging before achieving high-income levels. In response to this situation, policymakers need to develop solutions to ensure social security for informal sector workers. These solutions should include promoting voluntary pensions, expanding social pensions, increasing the coverage of voluntary social insurance, and establishing mechanisms to encourage participation in the social security system.
