NDO – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has call on more initiatives of union members, workers, and public employees, to make new strides in labour productivity, thus bringing Vietnam to move forward with rapid and sustainable development.
The Government leader made the request while addressing a ceremony held in Hanoi on December 28, by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) to honour initiatives that stood out in the VGCL-launched 75,000-initiative programme.

The programme was launched following the success of the 13th National Party Congress, when the entire country was joining hands to realise the dual goals of both remaining socio-economic activities and ensuring COVID-19 prevention and control. It aimed to inspire patriotism, creativity, and self-resilience among workers, public employees, and labourers nationwide.
Nearly three months after its launch, the programme received more than 250,000 initiatives covering assorted areas by individuals and collectives from different social backgrounds, ranging from intellectuals, scientists, managers, business leaders, to public servants, workers, and soldiers.
The organising board selected seven collectives and 128 individuals, who stood out among the entrants, to honour at the ceremony.
While praising the honourees, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed that the Party and State always treasure the initiatives and experiences of people from all walks of life, particularly those from the working class.
He noted that in today’s era of globalisation and international integration, science, technology, and human knowledge are changing rapidly, requesting people to promote creativity and innovations in the way of thinking and acting for the common interest of the community and the nation.
He also called for more useful and practical initiatives and solutions in enhancing pandemic prevention and control, while facilitating national socio-economic recovery.
