Accordingly, foreign workers, including Vietnamese ones, can take part in social insurance in Malaysia as of January 1, 2019. Employers should complete procedures related to social insurance for their staff.

More than 1,100 Vietnamese worked in Malaysia in 2018, with over 50 per cent were female.

Under Malaysia’s regulations, expenses for immigration security clearance (ISC), online health examinations and visas will be paid by employers if the employees past required tests.

If employees failed the ISC and online health examinations, they are must pay related fees.

Regarding employment in the construction area, the Malaysian Government will assign several construction training and assessment centres to evaluate construction workers’ skills before they can work in the country, according to the DoLAB.
