VSS schedules update for data of at least 90 per cent of participants by Dec 31

Personal identification numbers and identity card data of at least 90 per cent of social and health insurance participants are set to be updated on Viet Nam Social Security’s database by December 31 this year.

The agency also schedules to finish the approval of a total of 35 million users of the VssID – digital social insurance application by the end of this year. The VssID application, which is available on IOS and Android platforms, provides users with information on their social insurance engagement history, social insurance codes, medical facilities accepting social insurance as well as places for paying insurance premiums.

The targets are set under the agency’s Dispatch No 2425/BHXH-TDKT, which was recently sent to the agency’s relevant units and branches to launch an emulation movement to finish the data update by the end of this year.

The emulation movement was deployed to all civil servants and public employees in the insurance sector between September 15, 2022 and December 31, 2022.

To reach the targets, the agency orders heads of affiliated units and directors of the branches in provinces and cities to coordinate with Party committees at all levels in the localities to effectively deploy the dispatch.

The head of affiliated units and director of the branches in provinces and cities have to actively propose solutions and initiatives to remove difficulties if any in the process of updating and supplementing the personal identification numbers and identify card data for participants as well as the process of approving the users of the VssID application, the agency said.

It is necessary to update the number of new participants weekly and monthly to guide the participants to install the VssID application and register their accounts following instructions in Appendix I under the agency’s Plan No 2207/KH- BHXH, the agency said.

It is necessary to update and supplement the email addresses of the participants following instructions in Appendix II of the plan and approve accounts of the VssID application’s new users following Appendix III of the plan, the agency said.

Besides, it is told to monitor the progress of the emulation movement weekly and monthly to actively adjust according to the specific situation of each locality and finish the assigned tasks as planned, the agency said.

Relevant units are tasked to improve existing features and develop new features of the VssID application to serve the demand of diverse groups of participants, the agency said.

The heads of affiliated units and directors of the branches in provinces and cities are requested to regularly inspect and urge units to implement their assigned tasks to ensure progress and quality.

It is necessary to strengthen communication on mass media, especially on the internet and social networks about the meaning and implementation of the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 06/QD-TTg dated January 6, 2022, approving the Project on developing and applying the population data and electronic identification and authentication to serve national digital transformation in the 2022-2025 period, with a vision to 2030; as well as the project’s implementation of the insurance sector.

The Viet Nam Social Security’s General Director Nguyen The Manh assigned the Department of Emulation and Commendation to monitor and urge the implementation of the emulation movement and propose the General Director to reward units and individuals with outstanding achievements.

The results of the emulation movement’s implementation will be one of the criteria for evaluating and ranking emulation and commendation for each unit of the agency this year, the General Director said.

Data from the agency shows that as of June 30, 2022, there were over 16.8 million people participating in social insurance and more than 86.5 million people participating in health insurance in the country.
