Training conference on diplomacy and international integration

Vietnam Social Security (VSS) on May 9 organised a training conference on diplomacy and international integration of the sector in 2022 for the southern region in southern Hau Giang Province.

Participants included VSS Deputy Director General Dao Viet Anh, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Huyen and other provincial leaders, and representatives from agencies in charge of diplomacy of Social Insurance of 32 southern provinces and cities.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, VSS Deputy Director General Anh said amid the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the social insurance sector has still seriously followed the directions of the Government and the Prime Minister to coordinate with relevant ministries, agencies and localities to effectively implement assigned targets and tasks, including an increase in the social insurance and health insurance coverage rates, service quality being ensured and improved, application of information technology, digital transformation and administrative procedure reform being enhanced, creating favourable conditions for people and businesses in conducting transactions with social insurance agencies.

He also acknowledged diplomatic achievements of the sector in recent years, including a bilateral agreement on social insurance between Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea, the greater role of the VSS in activities of the International Social Security Association and the ASEAN Social Security Association as well as the presence of the VSS in diplomacy activities of the Government and the Prime Minister.

“The sector’s diplomacy tasks have helped to affirm its role and position with international friends. At this conference, I expect participants to listen to speakers and get updated with new issues in diplomacy as well as improve knowledge about international integration,” he said.

At the meeting, experts in the field of diplomacy shared experience and discussed key topics such as orientations to implement diplomacy activities of the insurance sector in 2022; the world economy and Vietnam in the face of great impacts; and relations between large countries and impacts on Vietnam. They also promote and provide guidance on the implementation of a regulation to unite diplomatic activities of the insurance sector; and shared modern communication methods and the application of multimedia via digital platforms./.
